Background
The original painting "Memory of a City: Budapest U-Turn" was 60x80 cm (24" x 32" ) done with acrylic paint on a canvas. The painting was inspired by a trip to Budapest. While making the painting, I also wrote a poem.
U-Turn
I used to say: “There is no going backwards, only forwards"
Urban lines, lights, signs
only to some extend cover
the underlying sadness of things,
game endings and goodbyes in the snow,
undercurrents of lost love.
“That’s it”, he said, and so it was.
There was nothing more to it, really.
The truth is: I’ve been going in circles,
taking U-Turns in succession.
